Africa is awash with imaginative, ambitious and highly talented young minds. Despite our continent’s vast natural and mineral resources, I strongly believe that Africa’s most valuable resource is its resourceful people.
Kodjo Afate Gnikou is a young, curious and very talented inventor in Togo. He has created what is widely believed to be Africa’s first 3D printer from scrap materials and electronic waste he found at dumpsites in Lome, Togo.
Like Asidu Abudu, the Ghanaian inventor, Kodjo too doesn’t hold a degree from MIT or any of the world’s top universities. His inventions are inspired by his dreams and observations.
Watch him as he works on his invention and tells his story. I’m sure this will leave you richly inspired.
How do you think more of Africa’s brightest minds can be showcased to the world?
Any thoughts?
